Remote Simultaneous Interpreting

Remote Simultaneous Interpreting (known as RSI) is impressively fluid. You connect to an online meeting and the interpreters will translate whatever you say to other languages, and whatever others say straight back into your language.

With the right platform and setup, it's the second best thing to actually speaking the same language.

RSI for Online Webinars

Increase your reach by offering your webinars to a multilingual audience

RSI for Online Conferences

Remove the language barrier between speakers and participants to broaden your audience.

RSI for Online Meetings

Facilitate communication across departments or organisation based in multiple countries and language regions

RSI for Online
Training

Make your training sessions available to the rest of the world.

All you'll need is...

Remote Simultaneous Interpretation

...an interpreting team

Simultaneous interpreting is cognitively intense, which is why the interpreters always work in pairs. This allows us to support each other by looking up terminology, jolting down names and numbers, to take it in turns on the microphone, and to offer contingency in the event of a technical problem.

I can source a second French interpreter to work with me, and I can also organise interpreting teams in other language combinations. This way, we can maximise the interpreting happening online and minimise travel, accommodation or other expenses.

...a video conference platform

Not all video conferencing tools are able to facilitate live interpretation.

The best option is Zoom. The interpretation tool is only available with a paying plan, but don't worry if you don't have a license. We can use mine.

MS Teams also offers a native interpretation function (it only goes in one language direction). Google Meet doesn't offer it at all.

I can help you choose the best option, organise the event invitations and even run the event on the day.

Simultaneous interpretation on Zoom
Good sound for interpreters

...decent sound quality

To do your speakers' justice, we need to hear them very well. Headset with built-in microphones work best. We can also work with multiple people attending from a board room equipped to offer excellent sound quality. For hybrid events, a sound technician on-site and a Zoom connected to the PA system is often enough. This allows you to keep the interpreting team affordable by removing the need for travel and accommodation.

Read the guide to help your speakers understand how to "talk" through a conference interpreter.

... a consultant interpreter to manage it all

I can offer interpreting only, or I can take care of the whole package, including:

- Establishing the language regime and recruiting the interpreters depending on your needs

- Providing a Zoom licence, sending the invitation and running the interpretation on the day

- Preparing one invoice covering the entire interpreting operation
